Senator Stevens led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the third through twenty-third legislative days of the first special session be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. Communications A letter dated May 21 from Senate President Meyer was read stating: Pursuant to Article II, Section 9, of the Constitution of the State of Alaska and AS 24.05.100(a)(2), the Presiding Officers of the Senate and the House announce the memberships of both bodies were polled asking whether a special session of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature should be held in Anchorage, AK, in order to consider legislation dealing with the FY 15 and 16 Operating Budget and House Bill 44 Sex Abuse/Assault/Dating Violence/Prevention Programs. The poll results show that two-thirds of the membership of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature responded in the affirmative. The question asked of Senate members was: "Should the Legislature meet in special session in Anchorage to consider legislation pertaining to the FY 15 and FY 16 Operating Budget and House Bill 44 Sex Abuse/Assault/Dating Violence/Prevention Programs?" The poll results are attached.
